The Model Executor is a Shiny app handles the NLME model run setup and execution. Additional information on this Shiny app can be found here.
For individual modeling, the jobs are always run locally using the run method Naive-pooled, which cannot be changed. Population modelers have many more run options.
Select the NLME model to run in the main Pirana window.
Right-click the selected model and choose RsNLME shiny > Execute Metamodel.
In the Model Executor window, select the Run Mode from the pulldown at the top.

Use the OPTIONS tab to define any settings specific to the selected run mode.
These settings are described in the following sections:
At any point while defining the run mode options, press the GENERATE button at the bottom of the window to generate and display the code specifying the engine arguments for model execution based on the current settings. Only non-default arguments applicable to the selected run mode or model type are displayed.
Select the local or remote machine or grid on which to execute the job from the Host menu.
The contents of this menu can be modified using preference settings, refer to “NLME Profiles” section in the Pirana user documentation.
When finished setting the run options in the central part of the window, click
at the top to begin execution.
Follow the progress of the execution using the RESULTS tab.
PROGRESS TEXT sub-tab reports if the execution started or finished.
CONVERGENCE DATA sub-tab displays a convergence data table with details for each iteration. Available for simple run mode only.
CONVERGENCE PLOTS sub-tab presents the data in the convergence data table as individual plots. Available for simple run mode only.
Note: Partial derivatives setup options are available for individual models only, but for all run modes.
Enter the amount of perturbation to apply to parameters to obtain partial derivatives in the Step Size field and specify the Number of Time Steps.
Plots of the partial derivatives are spaced at this number of time vales over the whole time line. To get a coarse plot, specify a low number. To get a smoother plot, specify a larger number of steps.
When finished, click EXIT near the top of the window. In the confirmation popup, check the Create new mmdl and update estimation args/tables box to save changes (edit the New mmdl file name as desired) and press EXIT.
