Managing Content in a Sequence

Once you have added a sequence, you can begin adding content (documents and data files) by placing it in the correct location within the TOC. You can also add placeholder file references – file references that reserve a location for documents that are not yet available to be added to the sequence and allow properties to be entered. These placeholder file references will help you to plan your sequence and monitor its completeness. Sometimes, you might not be able to view the empty sections of your eCTD application because Show Empty Sections is unchecked. From the Tools menu, select Options and click the General tab. Here, you can select a number of different options that will affect both the publish and review modes.

In order to manage content, your sections will be reserved by the system. Refer to the “Managing Reservations” section for details on reservations.

Because a reservation is required, only file references with a state of In Progress can be modified.
