Usage Notes

This guide often refers to the context menu. This is the menu you see when you right-click an item. Although this menu will change based on the selected selections, it will be similar to the following:

Common Windows shortcuts are used throughout PUBLISH. Therefore, whenever you see the following, a shortcut is generally available (Ctrl is shorthand for the Control key):

In addition to the context menu, there are two menus that give you access to other functions relevant to publishing: the View and Manage menus.

The View menu gives you a list of what is visible inside the interface. To access other functionality within PUBLISH, go to the View menu and select Tabs. This menu option will give you a list of all groups of functionality as tabs in the Details pane. Below is a brief description of tabs used ONLY within PUBLISH. Other tabs, such as: Details, Inventory, Annotations, Search, Print, CROSSCHECK, and Relationships are available in both REVIEW and PUBLISH. For more information on these tabs, please reference the “Tabs in the Details Pane” section in the REVIEW documentation.

•    Sections allows you to create sections for Drug Substances, Studies and other repeatable information.

•    Titles defines file naming conventions for applicable sections to automate leaf title naming.

•    Reservations shows reserved sections and allows multiple sections to be released simultaneously.

•    Upload grants visibility into the upload process of any PDFs brought into PUBLISH.
