PUBLISH grants a publisher the ability to add, delete, edit, and move inter-document and inter-application (external) hyperlinks within PUBLISH while building a submission. Any links that were created while authoring documents (internal and external) will be detected automatically once these documents are added to the submission.
Note: It is best practice to save your link and bookmark progress frequently to prevent repeating your work in case of unexpected interruptions.
Existing Links
Any links that exist in a document will be automatically brought into the document. This includes internal and external hyperlinks.
External hyperlinks will be brought in with their local paths automatically. As the destination document is added to the submission, any validation errors due to broken links will automatically update once all of the documents have been added.
There is one caveat to ensuring that external links do not break: upon addition to the PUBLISH platform, the path for both the source and destination document must remain in the same location until the documents have been fully uploaded into GlobalSubmit. Once the documents have been added and uploaded successfully via the Upload tab, the documents can be moved to their source location.
Link Relativity in PUBLISH
Upon uploading, links and documents are automatically assigned a relative path. Both the source and destination documents can be moved throughout the submission/application while retaining their existing links.
