Editing a Sequence

In order to modify the structure or content of any portion of a sequence, that portion must be reserved for editing. After a section has been reserved, no other user can modify that section until the reservation is released. This will be discussed in more detail in the “Reserving for Edit” section. The process to edit a sequence in Origin view is slightly different compared to the two modular views.

In the Origin view, individual sequences are displayed as a list in the Navigation pane. In Life Cycle and Current views, only modules are displayed in the Navigation pane. Once a reservation exists, simply drag and drop documents into their specific locations.

For Life Cycle and Current views, select the sequence you want to work in by setting it as the Active Sequence using the button or the Set Active Sequence option from the Manage menu. This is required due to the modular design of these views.

Once an Active Sequence is set, it will be displayed under the menus toolbar as displayed below, with the sequence itself listed in text. Any modification you make to the tree will affect the specified Active Sequence. To make modifications to another sequence in Life Cycle or Current view, another sequence needs to be set as the Active one.
