Per eCTD specifications, PDF documents are required to have certain characteristics, such as: PDF versions of 1.4 or higher and the correct view enabled to show the bookmark panel. Setting these requirements manually can take a tremendous amount of time: the file must be opened in Acrobat, then go through a set of various menus and dialog boxes. These properties can be automatically set in the Document Properties tab within LINK.
The options inside of Document Properties tab are:
• Page Layout
• Magnification
• PDF Version
• Navigation Tab
• Set Title to file name: Uses the name of the file as the document’s title.
• Embed all Fonts: Embeds all fonts into the PDF by including the font files with the document.
• Flatten Annotations: Makes PDF annotations available as an overlay of the PDF document.
Note: This does NOT flatten GlobalSubmit annotations, only annotations created in Adobe.
• Remove PDF/A Message: Removes all PDF/A-related entries in PDF metadata so the file is not identified as PDF/A.
